In my research on justice, I discovered that many times throughout the Bible, when justice is mentioned, so is righteousness. Both of these words signify acting in accordance with what is right and good. Here are just some of the verses I found:
“The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.” Psalm 103:6
“Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!” Psalm 106:3
“For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.” Psalm 33:4-5
“To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.” Proverbs 21:3
“But the LORD of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness.” Isaiah 5:16
“Thus says the LORD: ‘Keep justice, and do righteousness, for soon my salvation will come, and my deliverance be revealed.'” Isaiah 56:1
“‘But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.'” Jeremiah 9:24
