Annual Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for Victims of Sexual Trafficking 2012

The Salvation Army is actively involved in fighting human trafficking. One event that they sponsor every year is a weekend dedicated to prayer and fasting for victims of sexual trafficking. prayer and fasting flyer 2012The 7th Annual Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for Victims of Sexual Trafficking will be taking place September 28-30, 2012.

The Salvation Army, IAST and FAAST sponsor this event because we ardently believe that success in the battle against trafficking comes “not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6). We understand that in this battle we wrestle “against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).

Check out the Prayer Guide for the Victims of Sex Trafficking, which I wrote about here, for some information about sex trafficking and many specific ways to pray about it.

If you didn’t realize that The Salvation Army was involved in fighting human trafficking, please read a post I wrote a couple of years ago about their response to human trafficking and the fascinating history of why they are working to put an end to modern-day slavery.

They state on their website:

The Salvation Army firmly believes that the abuse and exploitation of human beings through any form of human trafficking is an offense against humankind and against God. This belief, combined with our mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination, motivates us to work vigilantly for the prevention of human trafficking and for the restoration of survivors.
